10.00am - Boosting the capacity of on-farm storage
Romney Marsh, Kent grower Andrew Cragg will be discussing the practical ways in which he has increased the on-farm storage of grain without the expense of new facilities. Simple ideas and careful planning have provided cost effective additional capacity.
11.00am - What is the future for the grain market?
Neil Cameron, Agribusiness Consultant from Bidwells takes an in depth look at prospects for this season and the forthcoming years crop.
12.00pm - Options for storage and marketing
Gary Markham, Grant Thornton will be discussing the alternatives available to growers and their cost effectiveness.
1.00pm- Making the most of what you've got, better management for faster cheaper drying
Andrew Kneeshaw from the Farm Energy Centre will offer tips and tricks to make sure your existing dryer is working to its full potential, and how to use its to the max.
2.00pm - TASCC - Assuring the grain trade: Garry Rudd, AIC
The presentation will cover a background to AIC and its trade assurance schemes which includes TASCC (Trade Assurance Scheme for Combinable Crops). TASCC covers food/feed safety in the areas of storage, haulage, merchanting and product testing. Other areas of the presentation will include:-
- End user requirements
- Lower audit costs for hauliers
- Mutual recognition with European schemes.
