Ahead of the popular Agricultural Building Show AMC has announced a discount of 0.8% off its normal lending rates as a result of being able to access European Investment Bank (EIB) funding over the next 15 months.
There has been tremendous interest in the show, being held at the Epic Centre, Lincolnshire Showground on 3rd April, and the EIB support for farm SMEs will be welcomed by visitors. Projects that are likely to be eligible for the discounted loan rate are ones that will increase farm efficiency, resilience and infrastructure such as improving storage, machinery, buildings and investing in renewable energy.
Jonathan Allright, head of AMC, says that when taken together with current low interest rates and the newly-announced increase in annual investment allowance, this discounted lending offers a real opportunity to invest cost-effectively in the future of the farm business.
”While emerging markets and the growing demand for quality food hold tremendous potential, the progressive businesses are realising that aspects such as energy security, the management of water and mitigating the impacts of extreme weather also need investment,” he comments.
The ABS show runs from 09.00 hrs to 16.00 hrs on 3 April. Tickets are £10 if pre-registered and £15 on the gate. Student and Young Farmer members are £5 if pre-registered but you must show your card on the gate. Lincolnshire Agricultural Society members pay £8.
