10.15am Stuart Campbell Frontier agronomist - 'Linking precision farming to agronomy'
Stuart joined Frontier Agriculture to develop their agronomy services. He also manages one of the companies 21 demonstration sites where Frontier demonstrate their latest technical innovations and ideas. With 20 years experience in the practical use of precision farming Stuart is an expert on the full range of services available. As well as being an agronomist he runs a contracting company with his sons applying Avadex for clients in East Yorkshire.
11.15am Ian Matts Yara agronomist - 'Precision nutrient management a practical viewpoint'
Ian is a Company Agronomist for Yara UK Ltd. responsible for all agronomic issues, including product recommendations, new product innovations and the positioning and future development of Yara’s range of precision farming tools. He is also a partner in the family farm in Northamptonshire, and has his own agronomy business, BFC Agronomy, looking after the home and neighbouring farms that form part of the joint venture business Brixworth Farming.
13.15 HGCA workshop - 'Automating nitrogen application'
A talk by Dr Daniel Kindred from ADAS on the Auto-N project, the aim of which was to develop commercially-viable systems for automated, fine-scale adjustment of fertilizer N applications to crops. This is followed by a discussion on both the findings and the next steps from the project.
