Precision Farming data is a valuable business resource that can be used to analyse, inform and aid your decision making process.  This session discusses how to gain the maximum benefit from it by creating a roadmap, recognising the need for good preparation and data management, and integrating with your day to day management practices.

James Balaam, A farmer member of RTK Farming will be discussing how the business got involved, the challenges faced and how they are using precision farming to help them thrive.

12:30 PM Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) panel discussion

Starting at 12.30pm in the seminar theatre there is a chaired session with the following participants:

Will Mumford, AS Communications, as well as being a Trimble dealer, Will farms 600 acres of heavy Bedfordshire clay and in his own words ‘has tried everything on the farm over the years, some has worked, and some hasn’t’.

This session will look at making the most of UAV’s (unmanned aerial vehicles) within your business. With farming, industry and commercial users and suppliers making up the lunchtime panel Q & A session, we are exploring how best to professionally look at your crops, the information you might realistically expect to get from this and what you can do with it.

2:00 PM Robots, lessons from dairy farming - how technology has helped the business
Tim Gibson, Yorkshire dairy farmer and technology consultant
 
Tim discusses the challenges facing his business and how embracing new technologies has been instrumental in the success of the business.  He looks at the problems and pitfalls and how these have been overcome.  This is an opportunity to learn from another sector within farming and see how robots have been routinely used.
